Donald J. Trump, an economic mastermind, is running for President of the United States in 2016. Trump uses his knowledge and swagger to persuade his viewers to vote for him. He will say what comes to his mind, he doesn’t hold much back and that’s what most voters look for in a candidate. Trump uses all kinds of persuasion such as logos, ethos, pathos, and kairos. Many of his opinions are logical, significant and consistent throughout his campaign.

Trump uses many examples of the logos persuasion in his campaign. One example is his tax plan. He says that tax cuts are fully paid for by “reducing or eliminating most deductions and loopholes to the very rich”. This appeals to voters because it is a logical idea in order to cut taxes. Many rich corporations and people have loopholes in contract documents, so Trump plays of a logos appeal in order to gain the voter’s interest. Trump also uses a logical appeal when talking about the immigration reform. Trump states, “A nation without borders is not a nation…without laws is not a nation…a nation that doesn’t serve its own citizens is not a nation”. Trump is persuading the voters that the United States needs to maintain logical laws and consider the freewill of the citizens.

Donald Trump takes a lot of heat from voters that’re liberal. These voters say that

Pathos persuasion is used by Trump Tremendously in his speeches and debates. When Trump talks about the 2nd Amendment, he states that “The Constitution doesn’t create that right- it ensure that the government can’t take it away. Our Founding Fathers knew, and our Supreme Court has upheld, that the Second Amendment’s purpose is to guarantee our right to defend ourselves and our families. This is about self-defense, plain and simple.” By referencing our founding fathers, Trump is playing to the emotional appeal of the voters. The “freedom” and “right” of the citizens of America makes citizens feel important, and are persuaded by Trump’s words.
