The rebranded face of, the first e-commerce platform to enter the Bangladesh market back in 2010 took form of Bagdoom, with promises of the grandest of online shopping experiences across the country. They present a one-stop lifestyle platform, holding products of various local and international brands together. The different deals offered whole year round, lets buyers get the best products at lowest prices and the sellers promote and build their brands big. 

Social Marketing: 

Involves the use of social networks and communities to build brands and drive sales revenue. It uses -


Facebook is the leading social network used by Bagdoom for promotions or even for discussions and conversations with their fans and followers. Its main account has 1.14 million followers.


On Twitter too, it uses an account. It has 568 followers. This is a smart use of social media feature for customer service and engagement. Bagdoom’ social media activity is lower on twitter than facebook.


Bagdoom’s Instagram page shows high level engagement. Most of its features are absolutely suited to marketing. Apart from its album like look and feel which makes it suitable for promotions, its comments and conversations features also make it a great tool for customer engagement. The brand’s main Instagram account has around 18.2k followers.


On YouTube too, the brand has account to reach its customers. It has poor popularity over there. Bagdoom’s main account has 531 followers. This is the era of video marketing and Bagdoom uses videos actively for promotions.

Google plus:

Similar to other networks, Bagdoom can share information and images, promote them as an individual. It  allows users to connect easily through interests and friendship. It has 208 followers on google plus.

 Linked In: 

LinkedIn is for making connections, and for the majority of professionals that means clients and business partners, not recruiters. Having a Linkedin profile isn't important. It has only 457 followers.

Local Marketing:

Besides social marketing approach, it also uses local marketing.

  • customized direct mail announcing openings, sales, and promotions, or containing coupons
  • promotion through the local chamber of commerce
  • hosting events(NASA space apps challenge 2016)
  • sponsoring local sport teams (Rajshahi Kings in BPL 2016) and clubs (biking, book, etc.)
  • purchasing local ad space (such as at bus stops and other outdoor spaces)
  • participating in community fairs and social gatherings ( Trade fair,Pahela Boishakh)

Social: it is basically is not socially embedded and create social relationships. The members how use it does not know the other buyers not even who is the seller

Mobile: it is  a mobile or pc based app. Available in play store

Local: it does not have any location .but the sellers how provide products may have a location based store targeting their customers .it also brings international sellers in one place. So it is not a local app.

Easy to navigate, but contains less options in category(6).to buy something need to create acc which may not needed in physical stores. But it provides some features like live chat with the sellers, wish list.

cod bkash (discount),credit /debit card , emi offers for some bank acc holder, provides warranty certificate, return option.

It sells fresh fruits and vegetables, meat and dairy, groceries, and personal care and household items via its website and mobile apps. It is currently serving all over Dhaka City, except some backdated area. Several grocery food include in Fruits and Vegetables, Meat and Fish, Cooking, Beverages, Home and Cleaning, Pest Control, Office Products, Beauty Products, Health Products.
