PIP is also known as personal injury protection, a personal insurance protection that has extension of car insurance which covers medical expenses and very commonly, lost wages. It is often called the no-fault coverage due to its inherent comprehensiveness that pays out claims uncertain of who is really at fault in the accident. It is possible to get maximum benefits whether or not the accident was at fault if one has PIP insurance and got hurt in the accident. Other than the medical bills and lost wages, PIP insurance is also able to cover expenses like transportation to medical appointments and lawn repair. There are 13 states that PIP insurance is mandatory. In the District of Columbia, Florida, Hawaii, Kansas, Kentucky, Massachusetts, Michigan, Minnesota, New Jersey, New York, North Dakota, Pennsylvania and Utah.
