2.2 Reflection of Plan against Time Management Theories

As an individual I strive to spend my time on productive things. I always try to develop a smart strategy that can help in managing time in an effective manner. The theoretical framework on time management states that it is critical to develop an optimum approach towards time by having clear, precise, specific, and achievable goals. Furthermore, the goals must be realistic so that the individual can complete them (Mason et al, 2009).

I set priorities by ranking tasks according to their importance and urgency. I allocate estimated time for each time that helps to give an idea of the time it will be needed to complete specific tasks.  I use technology to set reminders and make important notes. This is a simple and robust approach as planning tools can help to store information and help the individual to become acquainted with various tasks that need to be completed.  Getting organized is critical for time management as it involves using time in a productive and efficient manner. I try to avoid the trivial and time consuming tasks (Raybould & Sheedy, 2005). I start by breaking tasks into smaller ones. Scheduling time appropriately is important because it helps to provide an idea about the important tasks. Delegation is important because it can assist me in concentrating on my key tasks. Procrastination can be avoided by doing the tasks instead of thinking about them and reducing the distractions in work. External time wasters can be countered by working in an environment that is peaceful and serene (Lim et al, 2016). I avoid multi tasking by only concentrating on a single task while I stay healthy through proper exercise, rest, and sleep patterns.  I perform work in an environment by removing hassles with bright light and little noise. I do not open multiple windows on the computer or check the Internet. I try to relax myself through deep meditation and breathing.
