2) The purpose of this text is to inform the importance of integrating enterprise into the education as stated by David Ruthley MP, this will enable England to follow the lead of their competitors. The text illustrated that in “2012, just 58,500 pupils in England sat GCSE business studies, whilst 70,400 sat GCSE drama…” this shows the basic subject is not even popular amongst the pupils and due to the lack of this subject or the nature of it not being recognized can lead to lack of endorsement in further education.

3) Furthermore, the text’s intended readership is those who are in the education system or have any authority/professional bodies that are in the field of education as they can take heed of the text and see where they can apply. The readers do need to have prior knowledge in either education or enterprise or even both, as they then are able to understand the degree of influence this can have on both the future of the economy and the pupils as well. Fortunately, the text does use simplistic language which is very clear and understandable. However, the text does illustrate specialist content that is researched and factual. The information is relevant and precise to the point, which is to inform the necessity and importance of injecting enterprise into education.

4) In this article the detail of the content is adequate as it has covered areas where there’s is low numbers of pupils participating in enterprise subjects or even gain those skills. Also, the text covers where improvement in England’s education system can be made in terms of the integration of enterprise and education. The relevance of this text is valid as there is need for injection of enterprise into education, as this will in turn enable England to be at an advantage when competing with its competitors. Fortunately, the content of this text did illustrate what type of business programs are already in education and did shed on light the effect it has but it also stated how the numbers of pupils participating can be increased. The author has showed somewhat balanced text but predominately the content is aliment with the point the author is making, thus there can be some bias presented as the efforts of education system is making about this is not fully stated. In addition, the text does seem reliable as the information can be searched since it is part of governments documents i.e. the statistics that was used.
