In the twenty first century where humans live in the most material, mechanistic, and well educated era. Scientists have created medicine that has improved the lives of ordinary people. Without scientists, we may not even know the miracle of modern medicine without performing animal testing. Scientists have found many cures for illnesses that could be life threatening diseases. Unfortunately scientists do not only use animal testing for medical use but also on cosmetic. Many experimentation for cosmetic are not worth animals dying because we use animals for our own vanity. Scientists have also created devices and technologies for the diagnosis of various diseases and disorders has helped many patients to get the best possible treatment at the right time, thus saving many lives. Technological advancement in field of medicine has helped patients from backward nations get good health care facilities. Scientists created new ways to improve lives, but also found new ways to create products like mascaras, shampoos, and perfumes by using modern technology and getting rid of animal testing.

Many scientists have made medical breakthroughs in the last one hundred years which has resulted directly from research using animals. Biomedical research is one of the most important areas of using animal testing given it is focused on improving human health and medicine. Animal research on Biomedical discovered insulin, critical to saving the lives of diabetics. Animal research has also contributed to major advances in understanding and treating conditions such as "asthma, heart disease, bronchitis, kidney disease, leukemia Lyme disease deafness"(Lyons, par.4 ). Without animal testing many of those illnesses could have killed billions in the United States alone because on one had the vaccine or the medicine to either numb the pain or be cured completely.

Animal experimentation is also a sensitive topic among animal lovers, environmentalists and also within the scientific community because of the harm and pain animals endure. Whether any type of testing involving animals is considered animal testing, animal experimentation or animal research, it refers to the experimentation carried out on animals. Many personal care and beauty companies use animal testing for the safety of human kind before the product is released to the public. For example products like eye liner are tested on animals for three reasons; safety, efficiency, and liability. Many products are tested for safety to meet legal requirements to identify potential hazards to humans, animals, and the environment. Even non-regulated products, such as cosmetics are commonly animal tested for safety. This for the purpose of liability. Companies like beauty supplies do not want to market a product that could result in legal claims, which could shut down if a anyone reports a claim having an allergic reaction or someone dies. Drugs intended for human or animal use are additionally tested for efficiency, effectiveness in treating a condition or disease, typically involves animal testing as well.

Even though scientists have used animal experimentation to help man kind through out the years, there is the unpleasant fact they have to deal with the image they give out to people if animal testing is acceptable because the damage the animal body goes to. This issue within the scientific community is debatable among themselves because scientists have worked hard to help the tarnished image of animal testing.
