As I am a sponsored student with a fast-track career, I will continue to work for XX

Electronics, for the most part in a marketing capacity, and also possible the XX Business

Group, until the end of my career.  The following describes my desirable career path.

After successfully completing the MBA program, I will return to the company as a senior

product manager at an overseas XX Location.  In that capacity, I will be asked to manage the development, marketing, and sales of core products across an entire region, most likely Africa and Middle East initially.  If I had not applied for MBA sponsorship, I would have been given an overseas assignment at the beginning of next year (2014), to manage a number of brands for an entire region.  I will apply knowledge and skills acquired from a full-time MBA, incorporating elements of management, marketing, entrepreneurship, and finance, to planning and implementing marketing plans and strategies from a global perspective.  I hope to have developed the kind of broad perspective need for our company to compete in global markets.  I plan to apply my training to help our brands overcome challenges and to increase presence in the overseas markets I am in charge of, as I have done to date.Within 5 years, I expect to be a general manager and be assigned to head a major overseas subsidiary.  Upon my return, within 10 years, I should be an executive (director level).  

Given my affiliation as a member of the XX Group’s holding company, I will also at some point be assigned to strategic planning function at the Group head offices, especially if our business group needs to re-organize or re-invent itself.  Such experience will be crucial for me to continue a successful career path to higher executive positions.  Some of my predecessors are following this very career path.  My short-term performance will determine my long-term career.  I fully expect to attain success in my first 10 post-MBA years, to rise to head of business division or chief officer level executive at XX Electronics or Business Group within 15-20 years.  In today’s competitive environment, only a keen sense of entrepreneurship will be lead to sustained success.  Accordingly, my success will depend on my ability to recognize changes and trends, and cope with them through strategic planning and entrepreneurial spirit.
