This article is talking about a dismissal of an officer (Trevor Josok) from Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP) because of PTSD, a mental problem because of experiencing or witnessing something that really shocked. In this case, PTSD which he was suffering was because of the murder of four of his colleagues by Roszko which happened in 2005 which later on forced him to take a medical leave during the month of September because of his guilt feeling for not being there for his co-workers. After one year of medical leave, he returned to the work.

After rejoining, even though he was trying to recover from his past incident, the accommodation from the RCMP’s side was very depressing. All the time the work which was given to him was very low-standard and also he was not getting that respect from others which he used to, that made him very disappointed which forced him to take another medical leave.

Yes, RCMP violated the human rights. As I mentioned in above, the discouraging experience from RCMP made Trevor Josok very disappointing as he lost all his confidence, dignity and also put to shame my others. We can say that it is was a harassment that he faced, which is, therefore, violating the human rights. Harassment is one of the main categories in the Human Rights list. Harassment occurs when a member of an organization treats an employee in a disparate manner. There are different types of harassments in the Canadian Human Rights Act. So, in this case, we have clear evidence of violating this Human Right by RCMP.
